I recently started coming here after I got a flat tire and the guy who helped me was really nice and helpful when I was in a time crunch. I also work across the street so I wanted to support my neighbors. I got a new bike and came in with some questions about switching handlebars and the same guy who fixed my flat was super helpful and answered a bunch of questions I had and ordered a new stem and brake levers for me. I told him I was trying to dial in the fit and feel of the new bike and he told me if the components didn't work it would be no problem to come back and return them or swap them out. So I put on the new components myself, tested them out for a few days and they just weren't right at all. Today I took them back and a guy who I haven't interacted with was at the register. When I told him I wanted to return the items he aggressively told me that he had no desire to stock these at all and essentially made me feel stupid for returning them, even though a couple employees previously (and kindly) told me that wouldn't be a problem. I'm just starting to get into bikes and doing my own minor work. I was very grateful for their help ordering. I was planning on getting a few other things while I was there returning the items, but I left feeling embarrassed. I want to like this shop, I've had some great service, the cafe and bar is awesome, etc. I get it, it's August and it's a bike shop. I work in customer service, it's crazy right now. I don't leave reviews. I honestly don't care enough to, usually. But this experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope everyone else has good experiences here. Today left me feeling defeated.
